I hate this
The students voted down the referendum to raise fees helping to support the return of football. Yet another low turnout though, as 27 percent of the student body voted. At least that's a little higher than others have been. I had a bad feeling it wouldn't pass. I don't blame them. Why pay more to restore something that probably should have never been eliminated in the first place.
And really, who wants to spend a Saturday in Johnson City when you can drive an hour and a half and spend a Saturday in Knoxvegas?

ETSU just needs to have a Men's Dance team, that would best suite the San Fransisco lifestyle some live in that area, and no I am not bashing all of JC, I actually have family that lives there but there is definately a high percentage of men who like to travel the hershey highway. Football would fail again.

That sounds worse than spending an hour in Hell.
i agree about the UT comment, and then you got Carson Newman---arguably one of the best D2 football programs year in and year out which is in Jefferson Co.
but honestly did ETSU ever recruit around here? I know PV had a guy who played there a few years back, and Coach Rick Mullins played there, but out of all the talent the LPD used to produce you would think they would have went after some guys alittle harder, esp boys from GC who are spittin distance from JC (and most of them would get instate tuition....lol).
honestly i went there to watch a game several years back and thought it was really boring atmosphere.

Not much difference in the 2 when comparing the cities not the universities. One has a zoo and a better mall.
Lee's Brandon Calton and Jimmy Martin played there during the last years of the program.
Right, while the other IS A ZOO!
"One must strive for perfection to achieve excellence." Don Shula
Scott Countians get instate at ETSU.
As well as Lee, Washington, and other counties that are close.
I don't think Wise does though.
Serious sport has nothing to do with fair play. It is bound up with hatred, jealousy, boastfulness, disregard of all rules and sadistic pleasure in witnessing violence. In other words, it is war minus the shooting.
